MSH Worlds in perspective: the new management presents itself

The new director of MSH Mondes, Ghislaine Glasson Deschaumes, took up her post on February 1, 2023 (opinion of the Panthéon-Sorbonne University Research Commission on April 11, 2023, opinion of the Paris Nanterre University Research Commission on May 30, 2023). Together with Alexandra Pineau, Deputy Director, Julien Schuh, Assistant Director, and Cynthia Sayegh, General Secretary, she is the driving force behind a collective project focused on openness, interdisciplinarity and internationalism, as well as on co-construction between the various research and cultural professions.

The proposed development path is guided by the search for a dynamic balance between the history of MSH Mondes, with its high-level expertise, and its evolution within the framework of the MSH charter. Based on a strong characterization of its scientific and engineering axes, it promotes a capillarity-oriented approach to research, rather than one restricted to one-off support, underpinned by training. Asserting a federating role, it emphasizes development and innovation, particularly in the field of digital humanities, as well as an incubator for experimentation.

The scientific program is based on two main themes. The first, “Memories and heritages of societies and environments”, focuses on the ways in which history is narrated and articulated with memory and/or heritage, phenomena that are socially and culturally relevant.
